Bracels - piece of armour that protects the hand from the elbow to the wrist.

Simple bracels were made for the splint type and consisted of metal plates mounted on a leather base. However, they conceded to all-metal vambraces that appeared, probably in western Asia. Bracels of the tubular type are the most sophisticated. Such Bracels are composed of two strongly curved plates - the upper (arm rests) and lower (cherevets). These plates are pivotally connected one to each other and closed by means of straps and buckles.
